Are you an experienced Assistant Accountant with Audit experience looking for a new opportunity to work in an Accountancy Practice in the Uttoxeter area?
THE ROLE
As an Assistant Accountant at a Uttoxeter-based accountancy practice, you will engage in a variety of tasks encompassing bookkeeping duties up to trial balance. Your responsibilities will include accounts preparation for sole traders, partnerships, and audit exempt limited companies within a designated client portfolio. This role entails preparing VAT Returns, conducting general accounts work such as sales and purchase ledger processing, cashbook and petty cash reconciliation, and bank account reconciliation. Additionally, you will have the opportunity to interact with clients in person, requiring a professional and approachable demeanour. Handling company audits will also fall under your remit. A proactive mindset and a willingness to contribute to team and firm success and development are essential. Familiarity with systems like Sage, XERO, QuickBooks, and MS Excel is required.
REQUIREMENTS
The ideal candidate will possess at least 1 year of UK-based practice experience and demonstrate proficiency in Sage, Xero, QuickBooks, and MS Excel. Audit experience is also necessary. Strong written and oral communication skills, along with the ability to work autonomously in a fast-paced environment, are prerequisites. Candidates should exhibit general accounting skills, enthusiasm for delivering excellent client service, and the capacity to manage their own client base while adhering to strict deadlines. Support will be provided, as appropriate, for continued professional development toward the AAT/ACCA qualification.

The position offers a salary of up to £28,000, Auto Enrolment Pension, and free parking. Additional benefits will be discussed during the interview process. The working hours are from 9:00am – 5:00pm, with some opportunities for remote work. Study support may also be available.
